Objective: This study aimed to explore the relationship between school phobia and secondary school students' academic achievement in Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State using a correlational research design. The study was guided by five research questions and corresponding null hypotheses. Methods: The sample population consisted of 94 secondary school students in the area selected through stratified random sampling. However, Taro Yamane was used to determine the sample size. The instrument used for data collection, titled "School Phobia Inventory (SPI)," demonstrated a reliability coefficient of 0.78 and the data analysis was conducted using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Method at a significance level of 0.05. Results: The study’s findings revealed a significant relationship between school phobia and academic achievement among students in public junior secondary schools in the Asari-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State. Conclusion: There exists a notable negative significant relationship between school phobia and the academic performance of students based on gender and family type in public junior secondary schools in the area
